The St. Mark Giving Garden
It’s time to begin sowing seeds for the garden and community we seek to grow! We have a skilled and eager Lead Gardener: Rumbidzai Masawi. This is the list she of the seeds she and helpers are preparing. Please listen carefully as I share this list. If you would like additional foods planted, I’ll pause after this announcement for your responses.
We are planning to grow these vegetables: San Marzano Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Bush Beans, Peas, Carrots and Radishes, Potatoes, Zucchini, Beets.
Our leafy greens will be: Kale, Collards, Swiss Chard, and possibly Spinach
Herbs will be: Sage, Basil Thyme, Rosemary, Parsley, and Mint.
There will also be flowers and wildflowers and native plants: Sunflowers, Borage, Marigolds, Red Clover, and Milkweed

“History Below the Line” contest
Pastor is issuing a challenge to youth to present history below the line in beginning in March. Youth should submit a slide of an important piece of below the line historical research to present during our church services. Pastor will convene a panel of community experts from across MN to evaluate and choose 3 general winners. Youth In highschool or college will be able to win an opportunity to co-facilitate paid learning sessions with Rev. Galloway this summer at his company. Look for an entry form soon on the church website. Open to all youth including college students in the Duluth Area.
